FAQ

Good questions.

Age and ID, deposits, sterilization, pricing, aftercare, walk-ins — the things people ask before their first appointment.

Before you book

  • You must be 18 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID to be tattooed — no exceptions, and we do not tattoo minors even with parental consent. For piercing, minors are pierced only where Oregon law allows and only with a parent or legal guardian present who provides matching photo ID; some piercings are 18+ regardless of consent.

Booking

  • A non-refundable deposit holds your tattoo appointment and is applied to your final total. Small pieces are $50; medium $100–$150; large or full-day $200–$300. Reschedule with 48+ hours’ notice and the deposit transfers once. Cancellations under 48 hours, no-shows, or repeat reschedules forfeit the deposit.

  • For custom and larger work, yes — it’s free, in studio or by video, and lets us talk placement, size, references, and a realistic plan. Small flash and most piercings can often be done as walk-ins during our walk-in windows.

  • Piercing walk-ins are welcome Wed–Sun. Small flash tattoo walk-ins are available on Saturdays, subject to artist availability. Larger or custom tattoo work always starts with a consultation and a booked appointment.

Safety

  • Every needle and cartridge is single-use and pre-sterilized — we open it in front of you and dispose of it in a labeled sharps container after your session. Reusable equipment is sterilized in a medical-grade autoclave with spore-tested, logged cycles. All artists and our piercer are certified annually in Bloodborne Pathogens and OSHA safety.

Pricing

  • Our shop minimum is $140. Resident hourly rates run $170–$220 and full-day sessions $1,400–$1,500, depending on the artist and style. Set flash pieces have fixed prices on the wall. You get a clear quote in your consult before any work begins.

Piercing

  • We pierce exclusively with implant-grade, nickel-free jewelry — ASTM F-136 titanium (our default), solid 14k+ gold, or niobium. We never use plated metals or low-grade steel for initial piercings. Tell us about any metal sensitivities and we’ll match you.

On the day

  • Everyone’s different, but eat a real meal beforehand, hydrate, get a good night’s sleep, and don’t drink alcohol the night before or day of. Wear comfortable clothing that gives us access to the placement. We take breaks whenever you need them.

Healing

  • You leave with a written aftercare card and a direct line to your artist. In short: keep it clean, moisturize lightly, don’t pick, no soaking or direct sun while it heals. Piercings get sterile saline twice daily and a downsizing visit at 4–6 weeks. Full instructions live on our Aftercare page.

  • Yes — a free touch-up within the first few months on most healed pieces, provided you followed aftercare. Fine-line and hand/finger work age faster and may need touch-ups sooner; we’ll be honest about that up front.
